What time is it ???

...don't know where this will end up,so here goes...first,it drives me insane, all day long i process the info i glean off the net.Lately i've been so lost in thought, that i haven't been able to keep track of time...ever happen to anyone else ?(once again its just me,right ?)...anyway...at this point it's becoming a nuisance.Primarily because my sleep pattern is wasted, tired as hell at the plant, get home,do the 'chores',go to bed...voila...wide ass awake...thinking of all the things i shoulda/woulda/coulda done.Dissecting the things i did accomplish, second guessing the placement/amounts/quality/lifespan et-al,of everything i've touched.I am my own worst critic...
My wife says i'm a 'perfectionist'...hardly...although,there are times, when 'good' just aint 'good enuff',i believe perfection is an unobtainable goal.I am meticulous with my 'gear' true enuff...i just love the silky 'sssnick' sound when i pull the charging handle back,or the faint 'shhhhtt' of steel on an oilstone,i do not pursue 'perfection'...sometimes 'it' just finds 'things' i'm fond of...
All things being equal,i will perform my 'chores' to that 'good enuff' point and leave it there...
All too often i hear, "if it was one of yer darn guns you would have done it right"(tune in next week for the episode:'eating crow' for sustenance...)
She's right ya know...however,in my own defense, yardwork, tree trimming, factory forty, etc won't save our lives...so certain things get more 'attention' than others...which brings me back fullcircle to my (latest)problem...i'll be damned if i can keep track of time...once i'm doing something(of interest) the clock spins...once i'm thinking of something, same thing, the Misses screams at me to quit daydreaming...i tell her i'm not daydreaming,i'm formulating my plan...lol...

Well it's midnight,and 4:30 comes awful early...this is what i'm talkin' about...just a few 'minutes' ago,supper was done,and i wiped down a few shooters,sharpened my knife,and typed a couple words...go figure...

One of the first things I did when I retired, was to remove my watch. Haven't worn one since...and if and when I do, it will be a wind up and NOT run on batteries. Just in case we ever have to deal with EMPs, ya know?

Being single, I am allowed to daydream all I want. If anyone ever mentions it...I just say "I'm getting old!" and that seems to satisfy.

Enjoyed the post, my man!

Lol, Ken- I'm in the same boat as Hermit: soon as the regular employment left, so did the watch. Which probably didn't matter in my life, anyway, since I never could tell time. I'd arrive late, stay late, arrive early, stay late, work thru breaks or lunch. Shucks- boss hadda drag me to meals sometimes. Then there was the crew the guys jumped me, told me I was making them look bad. Ugh! I told 'em either keep up or drag me away. They dragged me away. (Go figure- I never have liked unions. Every time I wanted to work, they shut me down.) Anyway, I feel your pain. Just keep smiling and pretend time don't matter.
Love does.

I get there too, especially when I'm out piddlin' in my shop. I got my tunes goin', my project goin', and I'm "in the zone"..... If I had a heater and a can in there (and unlimited materials to play with) I'd never go in the house....

Darn Ken,

I missed out that you had a blog, so this is my first visit!

Wow. Purty toys you have there in the photos! Maybe I'll take some pics of mine and share.

I know all about the clock.

The wife goes to bed and the next thing I know, I hear the bedroom door open and her yelling "Didja know it's 3 in the morning!"

Ah, crap....
