...ItsRainingAnywaysAndI'mBored...

...do you believe, its been since december 'o5 that i had been to Kroger ?!?!...wow...

...i like Kroger inasmuch that it's not wallyworld...WinnDixie died cuz walmart, thePigglyWiggly is sill strong, but other than that, only sav-a-lot gets my grocery money...nuthin' else left...anyway...

...Kroger had a pretty good sale, stocked up on can goods, corn, green beans, sweetpeas, were $6.00 a case of 12...case of peanutbutter,$12.00 for 12 jars...cheese,buy one get one free(doesn't store, but we eat alot of cheese...lol)...campbells soup ten for $10.00,all varieties...also stocked the freezer with some pretty good deals on meat...deepfreeze died...but fridge'freezer needed alittle more stuff anyway...tuna,spaghetti sauce, coffee, papergoods, snacks and fresh produce rounded out only a 'short' list of things needed to replenish the stores...been well over a month since any serious shopping was done in this household...and we've ate well...says alot, having groceries, even tho we had no real 'income'...lol...living on my 'preps'...you know what i mean...

...so,having not mentioning before,Kroger is thirty miles from me...as the crow flies...so i have to make the best of those trips...one hour each way drivetime, need i say more...
...The Pig and sav-a-lot are walkin'distance...wallyworld is 6 or 7 mins drivetime, but a chance to save some funds and stick it to walmart are priceless...
...i know for the most part everyone shops at walmart...i do too...but if i can get something somewhere else,i will,if the price/location is right...

...so as the post started, its been nearly three and half years since my/our last Kroger trip...the card said so...the Krogerplus card that is...the Mrs and the register girl had a chuckle...i had my 'chuckle' as i stacked those canned goods into the pantry...lol

...keep preppin',keep readin',keep livin'...

...bye...

Sounds mostly like DAMN GOOD preeps, Conquerer. Our local wally-world [which I seldom visit] has soups for 3/1.00-- not Campbell's, though! (E.G. not "quality"; suffice, though..)

A STEAL on the pnut buttr... and veggies are a good buy @ .50 per...

With ya on the fromagge consumption, Kenneth me man! LOL!

And I don't tout the china-mart... diligent eyes can meet or beat, for the most, their "bargains"...

GREAT post, Ken. You're doing it the way we all should-- the REAL PREP way.

Slainte, Bro...

Sounds like you scored good at Krogers, my man! It does indeed beat going to WallyWorld...

Good to see you back posting again, Buddy!

Not a fan of ChinaMart here either brother. I'm a Kroger man, watch the sales and you just can't hardly beat 'em. Most of my food preps come from there, some from Sav-a-lot now too. So glad you had the preps to fall back on during these hard times. Glad to have ya back posting, we've missed ya bad.

If wrapped well, you can freeze cheese for 6 to 8 months with little change. I stock up when it is on sale and freeze it for later use.

...thanx for the visits fellas,i know it was a 'boredom' post, but i had to share sumthin'...lol
...yeah Cyg,kroger peanutbutter is pretty good too, their brand spanks the greatvalue brand...
...Jim,ANYTHING(grocery wise)is better than walmart, and like Cygnus said, their prices aint real deals if ya shop around...
...Bullseye,i just wish i could get away from the 'feast or famine' stigma, just when we get a little ahead, tuff times follow and i'm/we're eating on the stores, scared to think of not having them tho...
...Scout,thanx for the reminder Brother, does the freezer make a differance ?...i've froze block cheese in the deepfeeze, but i've never done it in the fridgefreezer !?!...my deepfreeze left me around last thanksgiving, and a replacement isn't on the horizon yet...

...type to y'all later...

The reefer freezer should work just as well as a chest/upright deep freeze if it is set to the right temperature and working well.

I eat out of the reefer/freezer combo and restock it from the upright freezer, which gets refilled from the chest freezer. This helps me to rotate my frozen foods better.

I sure do hate Wal-Mart too. Sounds like some good preps you got! Can't have too much canned goods.
