WhatAreYouThinking

...wandering thoughts...Sunday,downday,prettymuch...chores done for the most part, gotta pop up the camper, repack for bugout,it's been used these last few weeks,by us and friends...lots of stores need replaced from usage, kinda good too, helps with a little rotation...only real expense will be propane refilled,we burned thru one full tank, our friends paid for the site at 'our lake'...in 'our spot'...i've used that site since i've been here,9+ yrs...nice park, people and fishin',we've tried alot of other parks but we always end up there,it's good to be a 'regular'...i get a little discount, same folks, around the same time of year...i sometimes go to great lengths to be a 'regular' customer,a plus to rural living i guess, better service, price and portion...one of my favorite meals, carry out from a 'local' family restaurant,is hamburger steak, smothered and covered...and when them folks' smother and cover it cuz they know how 'I' like it,all the better, xtra smashed taters, and veggies too...they really fill the box...so we tip well, which inturn keeps service good...sadly we haven't ate out much this year, only a few times since Christmas, budget just doesn't allow it...

...anyway,restocking the pop-up is going in a different direction this time, trying to lighten the load,so to speak...space and weight...gotta get an equilibrium between freeze drieds, and 'heavy' canned goods, without sacrificing 'amounts' of rations...little things...like...got me a few of those orange safety vests(cheap, light, disposable),and more reflective tape,to take the place of a few emergecy triangles...vacuum packed the linens, after removing all but the absolute essentials, updated my extinguisher to a lighter version with simular capacity...now that i have an adapter for the small gas appliances,i can relocate the small propane cylinders back to the garage(two 20#ers,with space on the toung for another,if i relocate the spare will suffice...)...took out two long guns,ammo/gear,and replaced them with a .22cal/.20 gauge over/under single shot, and a Ruger GP101 revolver in .357/.38(replacing my Marlin and 870)...just little stupid shit i can think of,to save space and weight, cuz if it comes to me hookin'up the 'horse',i want the best bang for my buck,if ya know what i mean ?...besides,now that my 'gear' bags and our 'personal care' bags have been 'updated' the lil mod 60 and 870 are in a new home, ready to be thrown in the back of my Bronco...this is,admittingly,a worst case bugout...
...but...
...something is rotten in the air,and i'm still gettin the "shits-hittin-the-fan-this-fall" vibes...i layed off the last of our part-timers last week, nuthin' left but us 'full-timers'...folks' wondering when they're next ?!?!...so far the only full-timers losing their jobs were disciplinary...or,so they said(none were in my crew)...

...well,to close for now...GoodLuckGodBless...

I need to get the pop up out and set it up...just to air out and check the supplies as well!

Thinking of getting a second retreat as well as my first, ya know? Being retired, maybe I should just move there full time...been thinking along those lines, anyway!

Just wanted to hop in and say Hi,
I hope you have a good week.

As for us, we will have to hunker down right here where we are, at least that's the last I heard from Catman.

Hugs to you and yours

What a great way to test your preps and your bug out rig too. That's the thing I love about visiting Kens World, you always keep it real. Thanks for that. Good luck on restocking and keep us posted. Great job if ya ask me brother, keep it up. I smell something foul in the air, not going to be good.

Man are you organized! Now I've got to get out and rearrange and organize a bunch of stuff. I've got plenty of extras stored out at the farm but probably going to need more. Good way to save some weight with the vests!I like vests! Great post Ken!

I still need to build up to be on a rotate basis. I'm getting there though. Glad no one on your crew was laid off. It is scary. Few places down here are hiring and I know a lot of places have cut down on hours.
