...first off let me say,i hate flowers...broad statement i know,but let me clarify,as a 'decoration theme' i hate flowers....
....the Mrs ?...loves flowers,roses in particular,i long ago caved in and did the border of our room in a twisted together rose theme...it matches the bedspread(s),pillows and such,even the furniture has small ornate rose carvings,it is easy on the eyes,and does look o.k...that was the deal we struck some twenty five years ago...she can have flowers as decoration in the bedroom,but not 'all over the house'...
...but,(always a 'but monkey')i truly enjoy my magnolias...they have bloomed like crazy this year,lots of rain here in Mississippi...so yesterday evenin' i pulled out the ten footer(step ladder) and commenced to cutting off a dozen huge blooms,trimmed and placed in some containers and spread them thru the house...the best dern febreeze there is...awoke this morn' to the whole plantation smellin' like fresh cut magnolias...
...after some ribbing from the Mrs,suffice it to say,i finshed the argument with "it's not a flower!...it's a tree!...and i like trees"...
