Or...IsMoreInfoNeeded?

...met this dude at the pit today,he was coming in,just as we were policing up our weapons for travel back home...likable guy,had a brother in-law with him, they had just purchased a lil'marlin .22 w/scope,for a some lucky young lads Christmas in their family, and were there to sight it in...
...long story short,he had seen one of the 870s,plus he did see me case one of the ARs,anyway he wanted to show us "a couple of his toys"..."yeah,cool" we said, figuring to see his guns...
...well out of his case came a lime green based, yellow and orange camo'd gun, with orange muzzle...then appeared a second one,it was a little darker green, yellow and orange "digi-flage" patterned gun, also with orange muzzle...both appeared to be AR style "toys" from about three car lengths away...my pals and i looked at each other, damn near shocked..."dude really brought toys,WTF?" said one pal...

...well,upon closer inspection, the colt sporters were the real deal,he had decided to paint them this way just for "that purpose"...just to give himself "that extra second or two, before the bad guys figure it aint no toy"...

...we talked about this on the way home...on one hand i think, damn good idea...on the other hand,i think the guy is a fuckin'idiot...as for myself,i see some merit in the suppressor being orange..."if" someone is trading shots with LEOs(at least opening shots)...but in a SHTF situation,i wouldn't hesitate to drop the hammer on a "toy gun'totin' tard"...if it looks like a gun,it's a gun...

...whats yer opinion ???

I dunno... On one hand it's brilliant, on the other it is fuckin' retarded. Really, when it comes down to real shooting, it is retarded. When the time comes, and "We VS. They" is on, this will be more of a liability than a tactical advantage. Like you said, "if it looks like a gun"... Hell, LEOs have shot kids with toy guns already...

...mornin'China,right on Brother,if 'dude/chick' is carrying a Nerf sword,or even a broom stick,i MIGHT let them within'pistol range huh?
...anyway,when the shit goes south, only upheld, opened hands will bide someones time in my state...

Think of it as a different sort of camouflage for opsec.

If you live in an urban/suburban area your neighbors are less likely to call the cops if they see you loading/unloading a bunch of airsoft guns than if they think you are equipping a small army with real firearms.

If people think you have airsoft guns instead of real ones then they are less likely to break into your home to steal them when you aren't there. This applies in the country as well as the city.

You might even invest in a "real" airsoft gun or two to complete the illusion so you can show the neighbors up close that they are fake guns and not anything "scary". If you don't want to spend the money on the fake guns you could still spend a few dollars on a couple of packs of the plastic pellets and some of the face mask style eye protection that airsofters often use and carry them with you when you have your firearms out.

If I lived in the city I might consider doing that to at least one rifle for the above reasons. Distracting eye candy for neighbors that you aren't close friends with.

...hey Bitmap, good to see ya Brother, got the airsofts, never considered yer idea as a whole, that's freekin'genious when ya put it all together...me and the boy play pretty regular too(those things sting...lol)...routinely walk around with the pellet gun and his red ryder also...i know half the LEOs fully,i'm the least of their worries, they know my state is secured,a few have expressed trepidation of having to respond to a call at my place...lmao...i'm in city limits but not "in town"
