NoSecondPlace...OnlyFirstLoser

...clarity of vision...i like the way that sounds, saying something out loud sometimes helps me process the 'information' more clearly...

Problem 1:This clarity of vision, having extra time off from work, through the holidays(along with the coming collapse and all)has renewed my sense of self preservation.During these last few weeks,i've been 'preppin'...in the process of rotating my 'stores',checking dates, going over 'lists'(mostly mental, some physical)i came to realize a significant 'net loss' of preps...What ?...how can that be ?...most of my budget has been moved to 'hardware',but i didn't give up buying 'software' altogether !?!?...after a couple lengthy discussions with the Mrs,i found out i was complicit in the issue...two cans of beans going in,four coming out,two bags of beans for supper instead of one...holidays,company,days off work, you get the picture...anyway...as we are now, foods from the pantries, goes to kitchen cupboards for further use.We shop for the kitchen daily, shopping for the pantry is completly seperate...i wasn't(completely)aware, how many times we 'raided the pantry'...therefore i wasn't(completely)aware, how much stuff came and went(mostly 'went' evidently). Now we have lists on the doors, others made mention of doing this,i never did it...NOW I DO...lol...along with a pretty good inventory of our goods.Needless to say,i created a pretty lengthy shopping list, just to get us back to 'around Christmas' levels(or more precisely, where i thought i should be around Christmas,as far as 'foodstores' goes)...a paper thin budget, extended days off, unpaid,no way to just go buy it all...once again,i think ya get the picture.Stress levels elevated to new heights daily,no real 'release'...'cabin fever' doesn't scratch the surface of my ailments...lol

Problem 2: I like to shoot...i like to "hear the cannonballs roaring"(a close second to "sleepin' in my Mollys' chamber"...thanxMettalica)..anyway...that's my stress relief, that's alot of my leisure time(used to be,anyway)...if i got lucky/bored/stressed/pissed/company or just 'extra' money,i/we would go shootin'. Prior to july 08(fourth of july we went to 4 day work week-from 6 and occasional 7 day weeks ???) a typical day of shootin' was a couple long guns, and a couple handguns each, with plenty of ammo...other days i would 'practice',days of practice were mostly days of 'movement' with somewhat limited live fire down range, therefor not bad expensive to partake in...
If i had a bad day at work...ohhh...say,if the Fuckin'NewGuy drops a 13 ton mold, into the belly of a 2000 ton, horizontal injection molding press, from approximately 14 feet above the deck, taking out some of the air, cooling and hydraulics, sending shit flying everywhere...scaring the hell out of me and others, creating one of the worst Godawful messes...losing four other presses during an 'emergeny shutdown' and clean up procedure...grrrr...AHHHHH...........
...breath...in through the nose, out through the mouth,in through the nose.....anyway,it happened, usually i would fight the urge to shoot the bastard twice in the chest, and on the way home, stop and empty a couple mags into 'the hill'...call it anger management, stress relief, whatever you want...some drink(excessively)...some do drugs(excessively)...others still, have their own ways of 'release'...it is/was easy to grab a 'case' of ammo, and go shootin'...it is NOT easy to REPLACE however, not at this junction in time...there is no second place in a gunfight...only the first loser...i will not lose due to running out of ammo...this being said,i haven't been shootin' in months,no quick stops at the hill on my way home, conserve ammo at all cost...

Enter: a shootin' buddy with more ammo than brains,"come on man, lets go shootin"
Me: "can't...got no money..."
Him: "sure ya can,you got tons of ammo"
Me: "not anymore...sold most of it cuz the kiddies gotta eat..."
Him: "for real ? Damn man that sucks,i wish i could help man,but..."
Me: "nah,don't sweat it...we're o.k"
Him: "well man,i got plenty of ammo,i'll load up the truck and pick ya up,you won't need it"
Me: "hmmm...o.k,but i buy lunch,deal ?"
Him: "deal"
That was the short and sweet version, the conversation lasted probably five or more minutes...he came by with a couple other guys(guys i know, but not well)after declining the trip initially, with a fabricated reason,we got to talkin',and eventually, after finding out they weren't novices, i decided to go along. The trip went well, for the most part, right up to the point that we were packing it up and headin' home...here comes problem three...

Problem 3: dotgov acronym agencies...Demons...one of many, that i'm fightin' lately...

...but...its suppertime,i'm gonna post anyway, then continue in another post...don't know when that will be...

stay tuned...

Ken, hang in there man. You are much better prepared than many. There's never enough cash to prep the way I'd like too. The most important thing is, you KNOW what you have and you KNOW how to best use it. That may be better than having a bunch of stuff and not KNOWING. We're all in this thing together Ken, side by side, come what may, we will be here with you brother.

"But here I am in prison! Here I am with a ball and chain, yeah...."
Anymore, I think that's what the "holidays" are "designed" to do..... Yeah, I dipped into my stash as well (once again) and I need to restock it. Such is life in the "sheeple" lane..... Can't break free without becoming another divorce statistic. Been tryin' to "convert" the other half, but methinks it's a fool's errand. So goes another episode of "As The Stomache Turns".......
